On Wings of lead I search for you.
Aimlessly wandering the planet feeling your presence.
Begging for the memory of your kiss, your sweet caress.
I attempt to fly and willfully crash into the Earth, only to sense the faint trail of your
perfume.
I fall from grace in what seems an endlessly accelerating pace further and further from
you.
Your angelic smile, w’nderous love, keep the drive for your search alive.
My lackluster wings flap hard against the wind only to hardly lift me to the clouds before
an explosive crash.
Oh Lord I ask for pity , a sign, mercy….SOMETHING! That leads me back to this Heaven
on Earth I was once privileged to taste.
The Sun rises and still it will never shine as bright as her smile nor ever be as warm as
the sweet embrace of her arms.
A flightless bird, tormented, punished to roam the Earth and never soar the clouds with
you.
A Halo so bright you’re the only star that shines in the night.
I see your shadow in the clouds and attempt to reach you.
With tears in my eyes I yell out to you only to realize a mirage.
I’ve sailed the seas , spelunked the deepest caves with no avail.
Were you my Heaven or is this my Hell?
On wings of lead I've tried, with wings of lead I've died… in search of you.
